President

Reed Clay serves as President of the Texas Nuclear Alliance, the only industry association in Texas dedicated to the advancement of nuclear technology in the state. TNA was formed with a singular mission: to make Texas the Nuclear Capital of the World. Reed Clay

President

Reed Clay serves as President of the Texas Nuclear Alliance, the only industry association in Texas dedicated to the advancement of nuclear technology in the state. TNA was formed with a singular mission: to make Texas the Nuclear Capital of the World. TNA seeks to educate Texans on the advancements in nuclear technology, advocate for public policy changes to support our country’s nuclear renaissance, and organize a growing grassroots army supporting nuclear technology.  Reed founded the Texas Nuclear Alliance after recognizing that there was no single organization in Texas to advocate for the incredible advancements being made across the nuclear industry.

Reed was formerly the Chief Operating Officer of Texas under Governor Greg Abbott, where he worked daily alongside executive and legislative leadership to implement Governor Abbott’s vision for the State of Texas. Reed has earned a reputation as a tireless worker who is trusted for his honest communication, strategic approach, and deep understanding of a broad range of industries and issues. He spent over a decade at the highest levels of government, and during that time gained a deep understanding of highly regulated industries and how government action impacts the bottom line.

After leaving government service, Reed founded the highly successful government affairs consulting firm Crestline Group. The firm has successfully represented dozens of clients, from Fortune 50 companies to early-stage start-ups across a wide variety of industries. Reed’s approach has led pundits inside Austin and outside of Texas to recognize him as one of the top public policy advocates in the State of Texas. Reed is also a founding partner of Clay Scott LLP, a boutique Texas law firm focused on administrative and regulatory law.    

Lauren Clay

Vice President for Membership and Communications

Lauren’s success stems from her uncanny ability to understand and speak to the politics of any issue and to do so in a way that relates to every level of government. Her management skills have allowed her to flawlessly manage complex initiatives and coalitions for statewide elected officials and Fortune 500 companies alike.

Lauren most recently served as the Director of Communications for the Texas Oil and Gas Association (TXOGA) where she led the strategic communications for the primary energy trade association for the largest energy producing state in the country. In that role, she managed numerous communication initiatives and coalitions on behalf of some of the largest oil and gas operators in the world ultimately delivering persuasive and effective communication programs that resulted in significant policy changes.

Prior to joining TXOGA, Lauren served as Senior Advisor to Texas First Lady Cecilia Abbott where she oversaw the development and implementation of statewide initiatives, strategy, policy, and communications for the First Lady’s official and political activities. She was also the Deputy Communications Director in the Office of Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott. Lauren began her career communicating about federal politics in Washington, D.C. where she served as Deputy Press Secretary to U.S. Senator John Cornyn followed by Communications Director to U.S. Representative Michael C. Burgess, MD, who served on the powerful House Committee on Energy and Commerce.

Lauren is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations and a Minor in Business Administration. She is active in the Dell Children’s Trust and serves as a board member of the Elizabeth Ann Seton Board. Lauren lives in Austin with her husband Reed, sons Jack and George and daughter Margaret, and two dogs, Gus and Winnie.

Caroline Wylie

Vice President for Advocacy

Caroline Wylie has more than a decade of experience at the crossroads of government affairs, public policy, strategic advocacy, communications and politics. Her passion for shaping impactful policies and fostering collaborative relationships has led her to excel in navigating the complex landscape of Texas politics at both the State and Local level. Her work ethic, strategic acumen and integrity make Caroline a magnetic force in driving positive change.

Most recently, Caroline worked as the Director of Energy Policy for the Greater Houston Partnership, where she led the development and execution of the organization’s federal, state, and local advocacy strategy to ensure Houston remains the Energy Capital of the World. The Partnership is the state’s largest “chamber of commerce” and is routinely looked to for policy guidance on some of the state’s biggest issues, including energy, infrastructure, trade, economic development and healthcare.

Prior to joining the Partnership, Caroline served as the Director of Community Affairs for Houston and Southeast Texas at the Texas Oil & Gas Association – one of the state’s largest trade associations. There, Caroline utilized her communications, advocacy, and networking skills to build coalitions, communicate with diverse stakeholders, and advocate for the Texas energy industry not only in Houston but across the entire state.

Caroline’s work at the Greater Houston Partnership instilled in her a deep understanding of the greater Houston area, comprising 13 counties and more than 6 million people. When combined with her work in communities across Texas on behalf of TXOGA, Caroline possesses extensive expertise in the areas of local and county government affairs, civic engagement, and community development, and an enviable number of relationships at the state and local level.

Whereas Caroline’s career has taken her on to leadership positions with an emphasis on strategy, her foundation is rooted in the tactical implementation of policy and legislative advocacy. Caroline began her career in Austin, where she built a reputation as a strategic thinker with a competitive work ethic who understands the high-stakes environment of Texas politics. She joined Governor Greg Abbott’s legislative affairs team in 2014, successfully promoting the priorities of the State’s highest executive office and managing the evaluation of over 14,000 pieces of legislation. Before serving in Governor Abbott’s administration, Caroline worked throughout his record-breaking and high-profile inaugural election campaign as his Communications Coordinator for both traditional press and new media.

Caroline is a graduate of Texas Christian University, and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Broadcast Journalism. She is actively involved in the Italian-American community. Caroline lives in Houston with her husband Steven, and they are excitedly awaiting the arrival of their first child.

Andrew Kirima

Director of Development

Andrew Kirima serves as Director of Development for the Texas Nuclear Alliance, the only industry association in Texas dedicated to the advancement of nuclear technology in the state. TNA was formed with a singular mission: to make Texas the Nuclear Capital of the World. TNA seeks to educate Texans on advancements in nuclear technology, advocate for public policy changes to support our country’s nuclear renaissance, and organize a growing grassroots movement to support nuclear technology.

Kirima has consistently demonstrated his ability to bridge technology, policy, and finance to shape the future of energy and elevate the Neoindustrial Revolution. Following his graduation from the University of Arizona in May 2020 with a major in Systems Engineering and a minor in Electrical & Computer Engineering, the foundation of his career was molded in deep tech venture capital. He started his career at Cantos Ventures, then joined Bidra Innovation Ventures, and recently rpv Global. Today he continues to support fundraising and commercialization efforts for a thriving ecosystem of Neoindustrialists that are building the factories of tomorrow.

His journey in the nuclear industry began as a Hard Tech Analyst at Cantos, where he led due diligence for Radiant’s Series A—a startup that raised over $150M to replace diesel generators with portable microreactors. After leaving Cantos, Kirima joined Exodys Energy at conception, an engineering firm focused on nuclear fuel recycling with the goal of developing the first domestic, closed-loop, circular nuclear system. As an Advisor to Exodys, he has played a pivotal role in shaping the company’s strategic direction, leading fundraising initiatives, and facilitating engagement with other players in the nuclear fuel value chain. Through partnership with Reed & Lauren Clay (Founders of TNA), Kirima orchestrated the launch of the Nuclear TX initiative at SXSW, which acted as a catalyst for the first-ever Inaugural Texas Nuclear Summit. The 2024 Summit emerged as one of the largest nuclear-focused conferences in the U.S., gathering over 350 key stakeholders across the energy sector—including state and federal policymakers, Fortune 500 executives, advanced reactor founders, energy operators, and other influential nuclear advocates.
